TURQUOISE HANDS (2023)
Turquoise Hands is UNIVORE’s eighth studio album, its recording spanning two years between the members’ home studios in Los Angeles and Ohio. It consists of twelve original tracks with no shared concept among them, but with allusions to previous themes throughout, including personal independence and identity and humans’ relationship to the landscape and the ethereal, the rest emphasizing the abstract. Inspiration for these tracks comes from various sources, some specifically identifiable and some lost to memory. As with previous albums, Turquoise Hands does not strive to inundate the listener with vocal performances on every track, but instead sprinkles in instrumental grooves among traditional three-minute songs with verses and chorus, so as to provide the listener with a variety.
